This is one of the new hero on Dota Allstars Map 6.56 the latest official Dota Map for now. His name Kunkka, he is a great Hero to play. Good Gankers, Good Chasers, and a Tankers. With a good timing, you will be won your game. Learn how to play this hero now. This is not the best guide but it can help you to seek the right way to play him.

SKILL DESCRIPTION

Torrent
Using his unparalleled knowledge of the sea, Kunkka is able to summon a blast of water at a targeted area. After 2 seconds a fierce torrent of water errupts from the ground, the stream blasting enemies caught in the AoE into the sky, dealing damage and slowing movement speed by 30%.
Level 1 - 120 damage, lasts 2 seconds.
Level 2 - 180 damage, lasts 3 seconds.
Level 3 - 240 damage, lasts 4 seconds.
Level 4 - 300 damage, lasts 5 seconds.
Mana Cost: 105
Cooldown: 12

A very strong skill with very strong slow rate. When casting this be sure to advance the target to be able to hit the enemy. Main chasing and ganking skill. Quite useful early game.and this is your farming tool for lategame.

Tidebringer
Kunkka’s legendary sword Tidebringer is infused with the very power of the sea. Akin to the ebb and flow, Tidebringer passively grants the hero increased damage and 500 AoE cleave for a single strike every once in awhile.
Level 1 - +15 damage, 16 second cooldown
Level 2 - +30 damage, 12 second cooldown
Level 3 - +45 damage, 8 second cooldown
Level 4 - +60 damage, 4 second cooldown
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A

Another good farming and harassing skill . Quite strong skill in both early, mid and late game. 500 AoE splash hits both ranged creeps and ranged hero. 60 damage at level 7 is not a joke, it’s almost 75% increased. Great farming skill. Great harassment skill during early game. Also the big deal is it splashes 100% damage dealt into 500 AoE which is very strong against low hp enemies.

X Marks The Spot
In order to make an assembly for his troops, Admiral Proudmore targets a hero and marks its current position on the ground. After a few seconds, the hero will instantly return to the mark.
Level 1 - 2 seconds, 500 cast range.
Level 2 - 3 seconds, 650 cast range.
Level 3 - 4 seconds, 800 cast range.
Level 4 - 5 seconds, 950 cast range.

Cooldown: 60/ 50/ 40/ 30

This is really good if combines with torrent and ghost ship if used right. It only requires timing and a little practice. Very strong and effective skill against enemies with escape mechanism. Like Blinkers and Runners adn Jumpers.

Ghost Ship
The admiral summons the mythical ghost ship S.S. CoCo to the battlefield. Allies are doused in Captain CoCo’s Rum, inebriating them for 30% bonus movespeed and numbness to incoming damage, causing them to feel only half of the pain now and half after the Rum wears off. Enemies, pirates and scurvy knaves are dashed on the rocks for damage and a brief stun when the ship crashes.
Level 1 - CoCo’s Rum lasts 5 seconds, 300 crash damage.
Level 2 - CoCo’s Rum lasts 6 seconds, 400 crash damage.
Level 3 - CoCo’s Rum lasts 7 seconds, 500 crash damage.
Mana Cost: 150
Cooldown: 100/ 80/ 60

This skill really shines in teambattles where everyone in your team in AOE gains speed and less dmg during the effect of the ship which also stuns hero if the ship crashes on their face. Timing is the key to make this skill hit. CoCo Rum is a very useful buff. Ship only damages nearby units when it’s already sinking and also stuns for a brief period.

Why Tidebringer first?  Well, Tidebringer is the greatest skill of the Proudmoore. At level 1 it gives you 15 plus dmg which is better than RoB. I put a level 1 X Marks The Spot there to combine with torrent and use for escaping or chasing.  100% with 500 AoE splash. Also a fast farming skill, great damage dealer.

ITEM BUILD

Starting Items
Buy clarity potions for harassing with torrent and they also increased the mana for torrent on v6.56. Tangos for making you stay longer in your lane. Also buy a RoR for the vlads later on which will also help you stay in your lane even longer.

Yes this does stack with Tidebringer which gives u double cleave. People tell me he has already cleave and why need another one? Well think about PL why does he need manta? Pudge with HoD?

This is a good item for Kunkka because of the str and bonus IAS. This item can be switchable with phase boots or BoT.

Again he has low health and he is a str hero which makes this item so good for him.

Assault Cuirass

Cuirass grants attack speed and armor reduction aura. Very useful item against late gamers enemy. Because armor bonus is too much. I mean large boost which reduces all physical damage taken.

Radiance

Passive: Immolation

35 Damage/sec Immolation

If the game not over yet, buy this. This one gives you another AoE which is really nice.

STRATEGIES

Early Game
Pick side lanes for him if possible. If you lane solo and you lined up with some harassers just stay back last hit and deny. Try using torrents to damage them sometimes. If u get a nice partner and 2 melee heroes on the other side then you should most likely to dominate the lane. You can also switch lanes to gank and get some money if it happens that you get the kill. By then you reach level nine you may or might be close to have a vladimir and a boot.

Mid Game
You should try looking for ganks with a partner. Obviously with slows disable and stuns. X mark spot would be really nice with centaur and Axe. They can wait by the “X” and stun/berserk call. In team battles Ghost Ship would really shine. If someone gets hit their face with a big ship it would be funny. At the same time it gives your allies speed and some kind of armor but not really since u get half of damage later on. You might also wanna farm neutral creeps for your battle fury.

Late Game
This time you can continue ganking or end the game if you like to. Just get a HoT or radiance if game continues. he would be a great lane pusher with his torrent and spam it on creeps then hits them with his tidebringer cleave.

HOW TO USE KUNKKA SKILLS

Torrent
Always when casting advance the target area for instant hit. Do this when your enemy is running away. Always advance the casting of the skill

Tidebringer
When tidebringer comes just attack the nearest creep. It’s a sure hit even your enemy hero is long range (600 range) can still be cleaved by tidebringer

X marks the Spot
Use this carefully because it can break skill chains. Like meepo’s Earthbind. A great combo with torrent and ghost ship

Ghost Ship
When casting advance where you are targetting a chasing enemy. Because I think it has a .75 or 1 second delay before the ship launch

X marks the Spot + Torrent
After casting X marks on a running enemy target the torrent exactly where the X mark is on. After 1 second or just a timing when the torrent will explode. Use the command “return” which instantly returns the marked enemy back to the X mark. Then a perfect timing a torrent will follow up. A very good combo

X marks the Spot + Ghost Ship
After Casting XmtS immediately target the cross hair of the Ghost Ship into the X mark for a sure hit then use the “return” command before the Ship crashes on the target location. A very good combo

X marks the Spot + Ghost Ship + Torrent
After Casting XmtS immediately target the cross hair of the Ghost Ship into the X mark for a sure hit then use the “return” command before the Ship crashes on the target location. Before you activate the command “return” be sure to cast a torrent for a follow up after the brief stun period from the Ghost Ship. It is a complete ownage combo
